Frequently asked questions

What is the noofah?

The noofah is the “new loofah,” a travel-friendly washcloth that has dual texture to gently cleanse or exfoliate. Turn it into a bath mitt to enhance your exfoliating experience. It’s very durable so it can replace bath products that must be frequently thrown out.

How do I use the noofah?

Wash before first use (see care instructions below).

In the shower or bath, thoroughly wet the noofah and rub in soap to create a rich lather. You can turn your noofah into a bath mitt. Once you’re done washing yourself, rinse it out and hang to dry. Roll in a towel to squeeze out excess moisture to accelerate drying time while on-the-go.

Does the noofah exfoliate?

Yes! Use it to gently slough off dry skin, deodorant, sunscreen, oils and dirt. We recommend putting on lotion after exfoliating, while your skin is still damp.

For more tips on how to safely exfoliate at home, here’s a good article and video from the American Academy of Dermatology.

What are the care instructions?

Treat the noofah the same as you would a gentle garment. Machine wash warm or cold with like colors, gentle cycle. Mild detergent, do not use bleach. Hang to dry only as heat from a dryer tends to warp the fabric. Do not dry clean or bleach.

Can I put the noofah in the dryer?

We only recommend hanging the noofah to dry. Heat will cause the fabric to warp.

Can the noofah be used after laser hair removal or waxing?

Please consult your aesthetician on whether exfoliation is recommended after your laser hair removal or waxing procedure. If your aesthetician encourages you to exfoliate, then be sure to only start exfoliation after the recommended number of days after your procedure.

Is noofah good for sensitive skin?

The soft material is great for sensitive skin and any areas you prefer to gently cleanse. Unlike other loofahs on the market, the noofah can easily be washed in the washing machine so it won’t harbor nasty bacteria that can irritate skin.

Can irritation occur when using noofah?

Please note that temporary redness may occur when exfoliating, especially on your face. This is normal and should subside but discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Please do not use on broken or irritated skin. Stop using if discomfort or irritation occurs.

Where is the noofah made?

The noofah is made in the historic NYC garment district to support local labor.
